Coaching With A View — eagle, mountain and water

Space to think, a clearer view, and the courage to act

Coaching and facilitation for senior and executive leaders and teams navigating transition: leading from your best self, with wellbeing held at the centre and thriving as the aim.

What I offer

Coaching, which spans individual and team work, and facilitation for teams and organisations.

Coaching for individuals

Reflective, confidential coaching for senior and executive leaders navigating transition, growth, or a decision that matters, grounded in empathy, cultural sensitivity and deep listening.

Coaching for teams

Coaching an intact leadership team on how its individuals work together, so the team can thrive, be resilient, and meet its results. Strengthening that way of working together is the core of this work.

Facilitation

Organisational and team framing, delivered as workshops, onsite or offsite, creating the space where a team can align on purpose and strengthen its character.

For organisations & teams

Coaching With A View works with senior and executive leaders and teams across UN agencies, NGOs, and the corporate sector, on four continents. Marion is ICF-accredited (PCC), and offers coaching and facilitation, depending on what a leader, team, or organisation needs.

Values, philosophy and beliefs

The thread is already there

Life’s noise, and the residue of past experience, can make it hard to hear what you already know. Coaching helps you find that thread again: not by supplying answers, but by clearing space for your own to surface.

Hidden becomes seen

You’re doing the best you can with the tools and strategies you currently have. Coaching offers something new too: new experience of how you see yourself, how you see others, and the assumptions or old strategies that may be holding you back.

The work is yours

I can walk alongside you, ask the questions, hold the space. Reaching your goals means committing to act, comfortable or not. The work is yours to do. There’s no single right path: there are many, and part of the work is finding yours.

We’re all hitched together

None of us thinks, acts or leads in isolation. How you show up leaves an impression on the people around you, for better or worse, and impacts the team, organisation and wider system.

Integrity and ethics

I work within the ICF Code of Ethics, and value honesty and transparency, holding a duty of care and working from a place of integrity.

Iteration, learning and curiosity

I have a bias towards action: experimenting, prototyping and learning by doing, inspired by design thinking. Holding onto perfection gets in the way of growth and learning. We have to fail to learn from our mis-steps. When things get stuck, curiosity is often what opens a door that seriousness can’t.

Coaching: what people often don’t expect

A few things clients are usually surprised by once we begin working together.

It isn’t advice. I won’t tell you what to do. My role is to create the conditions that let you find where you are, where you want to be, and how to traverse the landscape and any obstacles in your chosen path. That’s often less comfortable than being told the answer, and more durable.
The agenda is yours. Sessions aren’t structured around what I think you need to fix. You bring what’s alive for you; I bring presence and the discipline to keep us honest about what you have said matters most to you.
Pauses are part of the work, not a gap in it. A courageous shift in how we lead often starts with a pause that filters out the noise and reveals what matters. I won’t rush past silence to fill it.
It’s genuinely confidential. Whether we’re working one to one or within a team, what’s said in the room stays there. That trust is the foundation everything else is built on.
Care raises the bar, it doesn’t lower it. Some expect a coaching relationship to be gentle at the expense of rigour. I hold both warmth and a real challenge to face what requires facing.
This is a partnership across the engagement, not a single conversation. Change that lasts tends to come from sustained attention over time, not a single insight in a single session.
